What is the Function of the Immune System?

The immune system’s function is to defend the body from disease-producing organisms. Just like a tae kwon do expert can defend himself/herself, the immune system also defends the body from viruses or bacteria that can attack at any given time. The experts of defense in our body are the white blood cells, which are specialized in making anti-bodies that can destroy the invading organisms. The white blood cells can also just kill the viruses or bacteria by themselves.
